Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Ioannis (John) Papidakis, trading as Finalist AI, London, United Kingdom. They cover the Finalist AI app and service, including free minutes, one-time minute packs and the Interview Plus subscription.
1. Who can use Finalist AI
You must be 18 or older.
2. Your account
You sign in inside the Mac app with your email address, using a one-time sign-in code or link we email to you. Your minutes belong to that email account and are available on every Mac where you sign in with it. Only one live assistant session can run at a time. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. Please don't share your account.
3. Free minutes
New accounts get 15 free minutes, once per person and once per Mac. No credit card is needed. To keep this fair, we check whether that email address or that Mac has already received free minutes (see the Privacy Policy). Creating extra accounts, using different email addresses or other tricks to get more free minutes isn't allowed, and we may remove free minutes obtained that way.
4. Buying minutes
- Single Interview — $9.99 for 60 minutes.
- Interview Pack — $16.99 for 180 minutes.
- Career Pack — $29.99 for 420 minutes.
Each pack is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Purchased minutes never expire, and they stay in your account if you start or cancel a subscription.
Who you're buying from. Purchases are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy takes your payment, calculates any VAT or sales tax that applies where you live and shows it before you pay, sends your receipt, and handles refunds; its buyer terms apply to the purchase. We provide the app and the service. We never see your card details.
Buy inside the app, or on our website using the same email address as your Finalist AI account — the minutes are added to that account automatically.
5. Interview Plus subscription
Interview Plus costs $19.99 a month and gives you 600 minutes for each paid billing month.
- It renews automatically every month, and you're charged $19.99 each time, until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from the Billing tab in the app or the Lemon Squeezy customer portal (linked from your receipt). After you cancel you won't be charged again, and you keep that month's remaining minutes until the end of the billing month you've paid for.
- Unused monthly minutes expire at the end of each billing month. They don't roll over.
- Purchased minutes are separate. Minutes from packs never expire and survive cancellation.
- If a renewal payment fails, no new monthly minutes are added until it's paid.
- Price changes. If the price changes, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies only from your next renewal after the notice. You can cancel before then.
6. How minutes are used
A minute is counted only while the live assistant session is switched on, and time is measured by the second. Setting up the app, reading transcripts or browsing your history doesn't use time. If your Mac sleeps, loses its connection or the app closes, counting stops shortly afterwards.
Free minutes are used first, then your Interview Plus minutes for the current month, then purchased minutes (oldest first).
When your balance reaches zero, the assistant pauses. Your transcript and chat are kept, and you can add minutes and continue. We never charge you automatically — the only recurring payment is an Interview Plus subscription you chose yourself.
7. Refunds and your right to cancel
Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy. If something isn't right, email us and we'll look at it fairly.
14-day right to cancel (EU and UK consumers). Minutes are digital content delivered straight away. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. At checkout you ask for the minutes to be delivered immediately and acknowledge that you lose this right to cancel once you start using the minutes. Until then you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund. The same applies to each Interview Plus payment and its monthly minutes.
When a purchase is refunded, its unused minutes are removed from your account — all of them for a full refund, or a proportional share for a partial refund. When a subscription payment is refunded, the remaining minutes from that payment are removed.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights if the service is faulty or not as described.
8. Beta and promo codes
Beta and promo codes add minutes to your account. A code can be redeemed once per account, may have an end date, and can't be exchanged for money. We may withdraw codes that are shared publicly or misused.
9. Acceptable use
- Use Finalist AI openly and lawfully — in job interviews, meetings, calls, lectures and seminars.
- Tell people when you're transcribing where the law or the setting requires it.
- Follow the rules set by the interviewer, employer, school or institution, and the law on recording where you are.
- Don't use it to harass anyone, infringe others' rights, or break the law.
- Don't abuse the service: no automated or scripted use, reselling or sharing accounts, or farming free minutes. We apply reasonable fair-use limits to keep the service working for everyone.
We may limit or suspend accounts that break these rules.
10. AI answers
Answers are generated by AI and can be wrong. Check important information, and don't rely on Finalist AI for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. You're responsible for what you say and do with its answers.
11. Your content
You keep ownership of your notes, screenshots and questions. You give us permission to process them only to provide answers (see the Privacy Policy).
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights. Otherwise, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Finalist AI in the 12 months before the claim (nothing, if you've only used free minutes).
13. Changes and ending
We may update these terms with notice in the app or on this page. You can stop using Finalist AI and cancel a subscription at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously broken. If we end your access for any other reason, we'll refund your unused purchased minutes and the unused part of your current subscription month.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU you keep the protection of your local consumer law.
